Rick Hurst
"Cletus Hogg"
    Rick Hurst was born on January 1, 1946.  He was raised in Houston, Texas where he discovered acting in high school.  His coach was Ceil Pickett, the father of St. Elsewhere star Cindy Pickett.  Hurst graduated from Tulane Univversity, and earned his master's in dramafrom Temple.
     Hurst won a recurring role for two years on
The Doris Day Show as Doris's mechanic, and later appeared in the films Tunnelvision and The Cat from Outer Space.  His first TV role was a policeman in Sanford and Son.  He was also in the short-lived TV sitcom On the Rocks.
     Al Salzer, unit production manager of the
Dukes of Hazzard was a friend of Rick's from Talane.  He knew of Rick's talent for physical comedy and suggested Rick to read for the part of "Cletus."  Hurst landed the role.

    Cletus Hogg was the cousin to Boss Jefferson Davis Hogg, and worked as the Deputy well Enos moved the L.A.  Cletus was not to bring in his ways and was very clumsey.  He also had a crush on Daisy.  Cletus was always looking for a way to impress Boss or Rosco.  He to liked the Dukes and hated how Boss would try to scam the Dukes.
